Narrow PD / Petite Face?
Always a struggle to find a frame that fits?

We just received the complete new Winter release of Alexander Daas Eyewear featuring specialty styles for narrow faces!

This beautiful collection is the solution to all your small PD woes and won’t be available until the end of January. However, we have a special advance preview for pre-order available at SF Optics until January 2, 2012.

Come check out this new release – after all its theme is inspired by the city of San Francisco and each frame is named after some of your favorite SF neighborhoods like the Marina, Hayes, Noe, Castro and more.

Check out this recent optical industry article about the new Alexander Daas Eyewear release (see below for larger text):

Text from article:
Approximately 33 percent of adult woman and 14 percent of adult men have a small PD (53mm to 60mm), according to the ANSUR Anthropometry Survey research results. In an effort to cater to that group—almost 25 percent of the entire United States adult population—Alexander Daas Eyewear is focusing on providing a luxury option for small PD patients, including 11 new styles launched recently.

“As an optician, over the many years styling people I’ve found a lack of selection of frames that fit this smaller PD market. It’s always much more difficult and takes much longer to style these clients, and often they have to settle for the frame that fits them versus a design they love,” says eyewear designer Alexander Daas. “This is especially true with people who want a funkier, chunkier look—everything is too big! So the new models expand on our small PD selection and include shapes that fit that geek chic look, but are designed to fit the smaller PD.”

The latest Alexander Daas grouping, the Fall ‘12 San Francisco Collection, is inspired by the neighborhoods of San Francisco. Each piece is designed to represent the colorful personality of each location. Funkier shapes represent the hipster style of Potrero Hill, while more conservative pieces are defined by the Marina.

“I wanted to truly represent where I grew up—a city of culture and history, and the different design motifs in this collection illustrate that story and remind me that San Francisco is home to some of the most classic tastemakers,” says Daas.

Model names in the new collection include Castro, Fillmore, Hayes, Marina, Noe, Potrero, Seacliff, and Soma.

Alexander Daas Eyewear has been donned by several celebrities, including Jenny McCarthy, Ashley Judd, and Sammy Hagar. Opticians are also embracing the brand, as can be seen in the Fall ‘12 campaign “Daas Opticians.” “It’s dedicated to opticians—the people that are in fact the ones that truly set the trends by styling and servicing their customers—and features opticians from some of the top optical boutiques wearing Alexander Daas Eyewear. l.a. Eyeworks, the brainchild of two women who couldn’t find the funky eyeglasses they craved, has attracted it’s share of celebrities over the years. From the first famous ad in Andy Warhol’s Interview, to the famous devotees of today, this independent eyewear company has framed some pretty famous faces.

Andy Warhol was indispensible in the creation of the image of this company, and it’s no wonder. l.a. Eyeworks is perfect for the Factory.
