Shawn, the representative for Robert Marc, honored us by showing us the new styles coming out the very same day that he himself received his samples. And these great new sunglasses and eyeglasses won’t even be available until November!

We start with Shawn giving us a little background info on Robert Marc and how his frames are made. Learn about how Robert Marc keeps his quality so high and what the inspiration is for the signature buckle on his hinge. And finally, Alex and Mark of SF Optics guide you through some of the new frame styles and colors, highlighting some of their favorites.

Webisode 3

SF Optics is now officially an authorized dealer of Orgreen Optics. And when our first stock shipment of their eyeglasses arrived, we were so excited we had to film it.

Michael was off this day, and although it was his misfortune to miss out at getting first glance at this new arrival, he was extremely lucky to not have to participate in some of the embarrasing clips which were taken, like the head nodding.

Orgreen Optics is a funky line out of Denmark. The frames have dual colors on the front and backside and the color palette for the line is diverse and bright. This eyewear collection is made up of titanium frames. Most of the frames are a milled thicker titanium, but there are also beta-titanium pieces in the collection as well.

Webisode 2: Interview about Alain Mikli and Starck Eyes Eyewear Collections

SF Optics interviews our local expert on Alain Mikli and Starck Eyes Eyewear – Micky, the representative for the collections. Watch this video to learn some basic background info about both collections and the influence of French Eyewear Designer, Alain Mikli, and Architectural Designer, Philippe Starck.

And for those super observant folks, yes, Alex is wearing the same shirt as in Webisode 1, but that’s because they were taped on the same day ;)

Alain Mikli eyeglasses and sunglasses feature a spring hinge. They have unique colors and are a funkier look … art for the face. The frame front is seperated from the temple by a gap, and this structure has been incorporated into the Alain Mikli logo.

Starck Eyes is a collaberation between Alain Mikli and Philippe Starck. These frames have a unique elbow hinge, so aside from the spring hinge allowed movement of the temple outwards, the temple can move up and down as well.

Webisode 1

Our first webisode is an interview with a MYKITA expert – Eric, the West Coast Representative for MYKITA eyewear. We discuss what MYKITA, is all about, what’s new with their styles and designs, and do a comparison to iC! Berlin.

The MYKITA collection is made up of handmade sunglasses and eyeglasses imported from Berlin, Germany. They are made of surgical stainless steel and have no sauder points, meaning no weak points. They are extremely lightweight and durable, and feature a screwless hinge design.

Recently, MYKITA has released new styles made of zyl (plastic) and metals with wider temples. This new look gives the MYKITA wearer the opportunity to go for that chunkier more plastic type of look.
