Limited Edition Alexander Daas Sunglasses
Anyone who walks a dog every day needs a pair of great-fitting, quality sunglasses, preferably ones with polarized lenses to shield eyes from glare and harmful rays. After years of seeing why customers returned other brands and what people were looking for when they bought glasses at his Chestnut Street store, San Francisco Optics, Alex Feldman decided it was time to put all that knowledge into his own line of high-end eyewear. After three years of development, a limited edition has launched just in time for the holidays (with more sunglasses as well as ophthalmic frames to follow). They fit like a glove, and even the polarized lenses are chic rather than the typical sporty style. San Francisco Optics, 2248 Chestnut Street (near Pierce), 415-922-7500, www.alexanderdaas.com

We had the pleasure of doing a private after hours eyewear styling consultation with Jenny McCarthy! Not that she needs any introduction, but Jenny McCarthy is a model, actress, comedian, author, and a prominent activist for autism and parenthood – she’s a Mommy Warrior!
Jenny McCarthy started as a model for Playboy, quickly rising to fame and becoming both a Playmate of the Month and Playmate of the Year. She hosted the popular MTV dating show ‘Singled Out’ and the MTV sketch comedy show ‘The Jenny McCarthy Show’. And, Jenny McCarthy is a New York Times bestselling author, recently having released her newest book ‘Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies, and True Romance’. We have to say, the book is hilarious!
During her private visit, Alex Feldman styled Jenny McCarthy into a pair of Chanel sunglasses (model 5185 color 11013b), a pair of prescription Chanel eyeglasses (model 3135 color C502) and a pair of prescription Robert Marc eyeglasses (model 206sm color 027). She looked absolutely stunning!
Paris Hilton has been spotted wearing sunglasses by Barton Perreira. And although these frames are the Harlequin, Paris Hilton doesn’t look like a clown behind these shades!

Many of you are excited about the premiere of Sex and the City 2 so you can follow the next chapter in the lives of your favorite city girl fashionistas Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, Charlotte York and Samantha Jones. Well, while these girls know their Sex, we know our Specs, so let us give you the low down.
Everyone has seen the poster sunglasses of this movie – Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, wearing Gold Flash Aviators by MYKITA. These frames are hand made in Germany from a flat metal material and are a limited edition piece from this exclusive brand. A high end frame for a high end girl….
The other eyewear brand that dominates Sex and the City 2 is Jee Vice. They have some funky glamorous styles shown off by the girls as recently seen in In Touch Magazine. But we’ll take it a step further….
In the snapshot below from In Touch, you can see Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) wearing Jee Vice sunglasses and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) also wearing a pair of Jee Vice sunglasses. But what you won’t see until you watch the movie are the Jee Vice sunglasses worn by Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon). In one of the Morocco desert scenes, she wears a pair of sunglasses by Jee Vice (pictured below) but the paparazzi never got a shot of it.

All the Sex and the City Sunglasses are available at SF Optics.
That’s right … not the 411, but the 944, as in info on what’s hot!
The editors of 944 Magazine came to us, knowing our reputation for being the top stylists in fashion eyewear, to find out what the 2010 sunglass trends are. And we were more than happy to let them know and provide a few examples such as frames from Orgreen, Gold & Wood, Oliver Peoples, Ray-Ban, and Mykita.
Check us out in the March 2010 issues of 944 Magazine: San Francisco and 944 Magazine: Las Vegas, where we show you some of our favorite shades…
Lady Gaga does it again and again – scantily clad in sparkly getups. Accompanying her almost at all times are glamorous whimsical frames. 2010′s eyewear trend release a breathe of fresh air. Color, shape, and oomph scream “wear me.”
The Orgreen sunglasses are totally Gaga-licious … large, with sharp angles, and a cat-eye uplift. The Danish designer takes titanium eyewear to the next level with edgy designs and many vibrant fashion forward colors and finishes.
Oliver Peoples has entered the world of suspended metal – hand-laid wire encased in two layers of plastic and remaining visible, resulting in a floating metal wire that appears suspended. You’ll look like a celebrity hiding from the paparazzi in these sunglasses.
Mykita, the handmade German collection, is taking their designs to the next level, entering the world of colorful plastics! Their chic women’s sunglasses are sexy.
For the luxurious type, Gold & Wood’s buffalo and precious metal sunglasses define class.
Or go with the simple and classic Wayfarer from Ray-Ban. Yet again, another rebirth with the newest dual-sided colorful designs displaying adventurous backsides.
As each season changes it’s your chance to step outside of the box and try a new look.
It’s Spring baby, and it’s on!
