San Francisco Giants closing pitcher Brian Wilson was a big part of the Giants FanFest this past Friday, February 4, 2012, and a big part of his interviews and presence was his bold pair of shades. The Giants FanFest media day is something that we always look forward to, but imagine our excitement when we saw him wearing his Alexander Daas model power sunglasses! He had just been in the store Wednesday when we styled him into these awesome frames, and also a big and bold pair of purple Mykitas. That’s right, real men wear purple! Persol: 1917 to Today

Persol, an Italian Eyewear company founded in 1917 to make advanced lenses for Italian fighter pilots, has come a long way in its almost century long history. Chanel. Just the one word is enough to bring to mind images of timeless beauty, classic style, and groundbreaking fashion. Chanel means many things to many people, but to us, it means flawless style.

Golden Hearts turned Chrome

This week we are celebrating Chrome Hearts eyewear and the people who love them. This brand, founded in 1988 by Richard and Laurie Stark, originated making motorcyle gear, but as their fanbase widened, so did their collections. This bold and trendy brand is a favorite of both the rich and famous, and the famously rich.

Let’s start with Katie Holmes. Half of one of America’s favorite Hollywood power couples, Katie looks every bit the part in these rock star shield sunglasses.

Heidi Klum, our favorite German import, bundles up against the cold and protects her eyes with a sporty Aviator style frame. Take a style tip from the queen of the runway and don’t let a little snow rob your style!

Justin Chambers, one of the resident heart-throbs of Grey’s Anatomy, was caught dressing down in his Chrome Hearts “Erected.” Snow or Sun, keep those eyes covered!

Dr. 90210 (Robert Ray), the king of Hollywood cosmetic surgery, has been seen wearing his “Beast 3″ while working his rounds. Chrome Hearts go well with his stethoscope, don’t they?

Even the Country world is getting in on the Chrome Hearts trend. LeAnn Rimes has been crooning country toons since her early teenage years, but she’s proven she has more edge than we thought. Seen here in the “Double Tip.”

l.a. Eyeworks Frames Famous Faces

l.a. Eyeworks, the brainchild of two women who couldn’t find the funky eyeglasses they craved, has attracted it’s share of celebrities over the years. From the first famous ad in Andy Warhol’s Interview, to the famous devotees of today, this independent eyewear company has framed some pretty famous faces.

Andy Warhol was indispensible in the creation of the image of this company, and it’s no wonder. l.a. Eyeworks is perfect for the Factory.

Elvis Costello was spotted in his Blue Abbey frame, which is a fairly traditional shape, taken to the next level with that great, funky color.

Ben Stiller’s Mason is a perfect fit for him, and brings an extra something special.

Specs and the City

Many of you are excited about the premiere of Sex and the City 2 so you can follow the next chapter in the lives of your favorite city girl fashionistas Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, Charlotte York and Samantha Jones. Well, while these girls know their Sex, we know our Specs, so let us give you the low down.

Everyone has seen the poster sunglasses of this movie – Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, wearing Gold Flash Aviators by MYKITA. These frames are hand made in Germany from a flat metal material and are a limited edition piece from this exclusive brand. A high end frame for a high end girl….

The other eyewear brand that dominates Sex and the City 2 is Jee Vice. They have some funky glamorous styles shown off by the girls as recently seen in In Touch Magazine. But we’ll take it a step further….

In the snapshot below from In Touch, you can see Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) wearing Jee Vice sunglasses and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) also wearing a pair of Jee Vice sunglasses.
