So after a long time, Orgreen Optics has finally convinced us to put them in our store…well…no, we’ve actually wanted the collection for a while, but just now finally made room in our store to display this incredible eyewear line.

Orgreen eyeglasses are beautiful frames from Denmark, featuring bright colors on modern / edgy frames. The frames have dual colors – a more neutral everyday color on the front side, with a brighter fun color on the backside. This is a great way to make a frame compliment your eyes and make their color stand out more, or compliment your skin and give it more of a radiant glow. They have great temple designs with unique detailed cut outs, but nothing too crazy. And all the frames are titanium … a light weight yet very strong metal material for high end eyewear. Orgreen uses both a milled titanium (a thick titanium that makes the backside colors stand out more from the coloring on the top horizontal surface of the frame front) and beta-titanium (a very thin titanium material that is bendable and has a lot of give, yet is very sturdy and strong. Some of their frames are even a combo of the two – the frame front being milled titanium, and the temples being beta-titanium.

Our rep Rene stopped by for us to look through the selection and pick out new frames. Check out some pictures we took to give you a preview of the line, which at this point has just recently arrived at the store!

You can see Webisode 3 to see the arrival of the frames and us featuring a few of the models.

And come by on Saturday, November 7th from 12-5pm when we will be having our Trunk Show featuring the entire Orgreen collection (and Bevel as well). Rene, the rep for both lines will be at the store to do an exclusive showing of the Fall / Winter collections for both lines which get released just before that trunk show date.

SF Optics interviews our local expert on Alain Mikli and Starck Eyes Eyewear – Micky, the representative for the collections. Watch this video to learn some basic background info about both collections and the influence of French Eyewear Designer, Alain Mikli, and Architectural Designer, Philippe Starck.

And for those super observant folks, yes, Alex is wearing the same shirt as in Webisode 1, but that’s because they were taped on the same day

Alain Mikli eyeglasses and sunglasses feature a spring hinge. They have unique colors and are a funkier look … art for the face. The frame front is seperated from the temple by a gap, and this structure has been incorporated into the Alain Mikli logo.

Starck Eyes is a collaberation between Alain Mikli and Philippe Starck. These frames have a unique elbow hinge, so aside from the spring hinge allowed movement of the temple outwards, the temple can move up and down as well.
