San Francisco Giants closing pitcher Brian Wilson was a big part of the Giants FanFest this past Friday, February 4, 2012, and a big part of his interviews and presence was his bold pair of shades. The Giants FanFest media day is something that we always look forward to, but imagine our excitement when we saw him wearing his Alexander Daas model power sunglasses! He had just been in the store Wednesday when we styled him into these awesome frames, and also a big and bold pair of purple Mykitas. That’s right, real men wear purple! So check out the interview and try to keep your fear of the beard in check!

What could be one of the coolest things to happen when you have pride for our country, love the San Francisco Giants, and are a Sammy Hagar fan?

Recently, Sammy Hagar, the Red Rocker and former front man for Van Halen, performed the Star Spangled Banner, our National Anthem, for the very first time ever, and it was for the opening game and ring ceremony for the San Francisco Giants in front of 60,000 fans. And to top it off, of all the sunglasses Sammy could have chosen to wear to this special event, we were honored that he wore the Barton Perreira Altair sunglasses that SF Optics styled him into! (You can see the original blog about that here).

Check out the Red Rocker’s performance.

Even further, Sammy Hagar was spotted while on his book tour for his #1 New York Times Bestseller “Red“ with his wife, and both of them were wearing Alexander Daas sunglasses styled by SF Optics.

We love Sammy’s rock (and Cabo Wabo tequila), and are glad he loves our shades!

TweetThe San Francisco Giants won the 2010 World Series for the first time in the Giants’ 52 year San Francisco history. Today they had their victory parade down Market St. to City Hall where Mayor Gavin Newsom officially handed over the key to the city and county of San Francisco to Giants managing general partner Bill Neukom. Newsom also declared today “San Francisco Giants Day” in the city. The Victory Parade drew crowds of hundreds of thousands of people, many of which camped out all night to get their spot!

At this very special occasion, SF Giants outfielder Pat Burrell a.k.a. Pat the Bat was celebrating in the Barton Perreira Altair sunglasses SF Optics styled him in yesterday! Arriving back straight from Game 5 in Texas, Pat made sure to stop in and get his eyes protected from the UV rays at the sunny Victory Parade.

Pat Burrell is one stylish baseball champion! In fact, just two weeks ago, we also styled him into SALT. Dafoe sunglasses! What can we say – the man has taste!

To recap the last few days, the San Francisco Giants won the World Series and San Francisco has been electric since.

World Series Game 5: After Tim Lincecum a.k.a. “The Freak” and “The Franchise” pitched an amazing 8 innings, Brian Wilson made the Texas Rangers Fear the Beard with a beautiful close in the 9th. Edgar Renteria was the MVP for his three-run homer that finally put some runs on the board. With the SF Giants win in Game 5, they became the new World Series Champions for 2010 with a 4-1 win over the Texas Rangers by method of TORTURE!

Fans crowded the streets of San Francisco to celebrate the win. Thousands of fans celebrated in front of San Francsico Optics on Chestnut St. The television news station cameras were out to capture the insanity and SF Optics cameras did as well. Check out our short 1 minute video clip that shows just how much mayhem was on the street – and the street was packed like that for hours.

Starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, Barry Zito just stopped in and picked up four pairs of Mosley Tribes. Now that’s what I call a true baller! Three pairs of the Mosley Tribes Bromley (in 3 different colors) for when he’s feeling retro, and a Mosley Tribes Borough for when he’s feeling kinda sporty (like out on the field striking batters out).

Even though this baller is disguised behind his cool shades, we still recognized him, and he was kind enough to take a picture with me (Alex), and Michael.
